Dr Lisa Hirschhorn is Professor in the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University and Director of the Ryan Family Center for Global Primary Care in the Havey Institute for Global Health. She has worked for over 3 decades as a physician and researcher to identify and address gaps in quality, access and outcomes of healthcare.
She is a globally recognized leader in implementation science, using these methods to improve quality and effectiveness of interventions across the lifespan from small and sick newborns to Healthy Aging. She is the lead or co-lead of multiple research grants from the NIH, as well asleading work funded by foundations and ither organizations.
Her work has been published in close to 300 papers and multiple chapters. She also works to build capacity in implementation research and quality improvement, mentoring students and faculty to build expertise in countries in Africa and in the US.
