Mophat Okinyi is an AI and human rights advocate working at the intersection of technology, labor rights, and mental health in the digital economy. He is the Founder and CEO of Techworker Community Africa , a worker-led organization supporting content moderators, data annotators, and other digital laborers across Africa through advocacy, psychosocial support, civic education, and capacity building. He is also Chairperson of the African Content Moderators and has played a leading role in organizing tech workers regionally, including contributing to the formation of the Global Trade Union Alliance of Content Moderators. His work focuses on the human impact of AI systems, particularly the psychological and social well-being of workers in AI supply chains. He has collaborated with international organizations, researchers, and unions to advance fair labor practices in the tech industry.
He has been recognized in TIME100 AI 2024 and HAUTE 100 AI 2025 for his contributions to AI ethics, labor rights, and the global discourse on responsible technology. Mophat is committed to ensuring that technological progress is aligned with dignity, mental health, and human rights for workers globally.
