Dr. Leveana Gyimah is a mental health expert with the World Health Organization, serving as Technical Officer for Mental Health in Ghana.
She is a psychiatrist by training, a Fellow of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons, with a wealth of clinical and research experience in mental health.
Her work focuses on strengthening mental health systems to integrate mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) into primary health care, strengthening community-based support systems, expanding access to evidence-based interventions, strengthening health information systems, and coordinating multisectoral partnerships that improve maternal, adolescent, and community mental health.
She has successfully supported the implementation of several other projects, including the WHO QualityRights initiative in Ghana, the WHO Special Initiative for Mental Health, and a pilot implementation of integration of mental health into TB care in selected facilities in Ghana(TB-Mental Health)
