Ifunanya Clara Agu is a full-time public health researcher whose work focuses on gender equity, youth leadership, and strengthening social accountability for equitable health service delivery. She is affiliated with the Health Policy Research Group at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where she contributes to research on health systems governance, sexual and reproductive health, and adolescent wellbeing.
Her work examines how gender norms, community engagement, and institutional accountability influence access to quality services for women, young people, and underserved populations. She has contributed to multidisciplinary research on gender-based violence, youth participation in health systems, and the co production of community-embedded strategies to improve equity in service delivery.
Through research, policy engagement, and collaboration with community and health system stakeholders, she seeks to generate evidence that informs gender-responsive policies and strengthens mechanisms for accountability, inclusion, and equitable access to health services in sub-Saharan Africa.
