Fidele Ngabo is a public health expert with over 19 year’s experiences of providing comprehensive high-quality support in program management of health-related interventions especially the maternal, child health/immunization program, emergency preparedness and response of epidemic diseases, integrated disease surveillance and response interventions in Democratic Republic of Congo, Congo, Rwanda, Guinea and Sao Tome and Principe.
Before joining Africa CDC, Fidele Ngabo was coordinator of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency Project supporting reproductive health initiatives in WHO Regional Office for Africa. Prior to this position, Fidele coordinated reproductive health and immunization interventions at WHO country offices in Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Guinea and Sao Tome and Principe. Prior to that, He worked with CDC/Atlanta based in Democratic Republic of Congo supporting the establishment of National Public Health Institute and supported Guinea with CDC/Atlanta in the implementation of the emergency preparedness and response for Ebola Virus Disease, Lassa fever, Marburg fever
and Covid-19.
Prior to that he was the Head of Division Maternal and Child health Department at Ministry of Health/ Rwanda coordinating the development and implementation of Policies, strategies, norms, guidelines, and protocols related to Maternal, Adolescent, Nutrition, Child and newborn health and Director of the National Expanded Program of Immunization in Ministry of Health, Rwanda.
Dr Fidele Ngabo earned his medical degree from the National University of Rwanda. He also holds a Master in Epidemiology and a PhD in Public Health from the Université Libre de Bruxelles in Belgium.
