Dr. Corine Karema, MD, MPH, is the CEO and founder of Afrika Kwanza Health Impact and a former Director of Malaria & NTDs at Quality &Equity Healthcare, supporting programmes and partners across Africa to combat malaria and NTDs. She also serves as a Senior Health Advisor in the Office of the AU High Representative on Financing the Union, working with countries to enhance domestic resource mobilisation, implement innovative financing mechanisms, strengthen health systems, and prioritise evidence- based and impactful health interventions. With over 20 years of experience, she previously led Rwanda’s National Malaria & NTDs Control Programme and held leadership roles with ALMA, the Global Fund, the Global End Malaria Council, and served as Interim CEO of the RBM Partnership to End Malaria. She has contributed to WHO and global partner technical expert groups, co-authored the Lancet Commission on Malaria Eradication, and published extensively on malaria and health issues in Africa. She co-chairs the PAMCA Board and sits on the boards of Impact Santé Afrique, APLMA, UCSF MEI, and VillageReach’s Advocacy Leadership Circle.
