Andreas Ullrich, MD specialized in internal medicine, holding a Master of Public Health is heading the Charité Competence Center for Clinical Global Women Health (CGWH) Berlin/ Germany which integrates global women health policies with clinical excellence. The CGWH conceptualized as a Public Private Partnership operates in partnership with WHO, UNFPA, internation societies ESGO PARSGO and FIGO.
Prior to joining Charité, Dr Ullrich has led the WHO cancer control program since 2001. By providing guidance to governments in national cancer control planning and capacity building in cancer prevention and care he has shaped WHO’s global cancer control strategy. Dr Ullrich has set the milestones for the adoption of the WHO Cervical Cancer Elimination Strategy (CCI) by the World Health Assembly (2028). All WHO Member States are committed to reduce the burden of cervical cancer within their national cancer control programs.
In 2024, Dr Ullrich has led in close coordination with the German Government the establishment of UNFPA’s global innovation program for women health, the WomenX Collective (WXC), the first ever representation of UNFPA in Germany. The WXC’s global Hub is hosted by Charité and the Berlin Institute of Health (BIH). In 2025, the regional WXC hub was launched at the Aga Kahn University Nairobi/Kenya
Dr Ullrich’s current focus is the development of partnerships with national and international stakeholders to reset the women health research agenda which aims at overcoming major gaps in women health innovation with focus on the global south.
