Dr. Fatou Wurie is the Founder and CEO of Youterus Health, Africa’s first company dedicated to building uterine health infrastructure across the continent. A DrPH candidate at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and former Mo Ibrahim Fellow at the African Development Bank, Dr. Wurie has spent 17 years working at the intersection of health systems, gender equity, and political economy in Africa. She has led cross-regional policy work for UNICEF across 57 countries, advised the AfDB President on climate-health integration, and coordinated high-level ministerial dialogues through the Lancet Commission. Her work centers on how institutions allocate resources and translate evidence into action in contexts shaped by inequality and fiscal constraint. Dr. Wurie holds an MPP from Oxford and has mobilized over $5 million in catalytic funding for health innovation. She splits her time between Freetown, Sierra Leone, and global engagements advancing women’s health equity.
