Dr Isaac K. Muyonga is a professor of Public health (Community health, reproductive health, adolescent health, assessment of quality of care, HIV/AIDS, health systems resilience, One health, research, etc.) at the «Université Libre des Pays des Grands Lacs» (ULPGL) in Goma
and Butembo, Democratic Republic of Congo.
He is also the Director of Health Department of the «Communauté Baptiste au Centre de l’Afrique» (CBCA), a Faith Based Organization which has its headquarters in Goma and runs 161 Health facilities, among them Districts Hospitals, clinics, health centers, dispensaries and schools of nurses (secondary level and college). He has a PhD in the area of Community Health and Development at the Great Lakes University of Kisumu (2014) in Kenya.
Managing health institutions in Congo provides him with opportunities to understand the challenges of implementing primary healthcare in a chronic conflict context.
