WHS Regional Meeting Nairobi 2026
Dr. Bamba Gaye, MD, MSc, MPH, PhD is CEO of the Alliance for Medical Research in Africa (AMedRA), a pan-African network spanning 33 countries. A physician-scientist, his work lies at the intersection of cardiometabolic epidemiology and biomedical data science, with a focus on large-scale epidemiology across African populations and data-driven cardiovascular prevention.
Integrating biomarkers, lifestyle data, artificial intelligence, and population modelling, his research aims to improve risk prediction and better understand cardiometabolic disease across the life course. A central theme of his work is strengthening evidence generation and improving the representation of African populations in clinical trials, with the broader goal of redefining cardiovascular prevention in underrepresented populations.
Dr. Gaye leads international collaborative research efforts that leverage large-scale population data to generate evidence informing cardiovascular prevention strategies and advancing African leadership in global health science.
