Semere Sileshi Belda is a senior public health professional, researcher, and policy advocate with over 18 years of experience in Ethiopia’s health, education, and development sectors. He currently serves as Senior Program Manager at PHE Ethiopia Consortium, where he leads integrated programs addressing reproductive health, adolescent well-being, climate resilience, and youth empowerment.
Semere holds an MPH in Reproductive and Family Health from Addis Ababa University and a BSc in Public Health from Jimma University. He was promoted to Assistant Professor of Reproductive Health at Madda Walabu University, where he contributed to academic leadership, curriculum development, and community-based research.
Semere is a PhD candidate in Public Health at the University of South Africa, focusing on strategies to reduce unmet needs for modern contraceptives. Semere has authored nine peer-reviewed publications in international journals, with research influencing national reproductive health strategies and contributing to policy dialogues on gender, youth, and climate-linked health interventions.
