Dr. Samuel Akombeng Ojong is a physician–public health specialist and Health Manager with UNICEF in Mozambique, where he leads programmes on maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health, HIV, immunization, and health systems strengthening. He works closely with the Government of Mozambique and partners to advance equity-based primary health care and support country-owned reforms aligned with the Lusaka Agenda. Trained as an obstetrician-gynecologist, Dr. Ojong has worked across clinical care, health systems leadership, and global health policy in resource-limited settings in Central and Southern Africa. His work focuses on translating evidence into policy and strengthening district health systems to improve outcomes for women, children, and adolescents. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) in Women’s and Reproductive Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and is a recipient of the Dr. Richard E. Hoffman Scholarship.
