Dr. Dennis Opondo is a global health leader shaping the future of humanitarian health delivery in Kenya. He currently serves as a health manager at the Kenya Red Cross Society’s Kalobeyei Refugee Operation, where he leads transformative, community-centered interventions for over 80,000 forcibly displaced persons from over 25 nationalities as well as the vulnerable host community of Turkana in Northern Kenya. His work focuses on strengthening health systems in fragile settings and improving access to health services for women, adolescents, and children.
Beyond Last Mile Health, Dr. Opondo is also a global advocate for peace and climate action, serving as the Regional Vice President -Africa for International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (IPPNW), having featured at UN Climate Conference COP28 & 29 and UN Civil Society Conference. He serves as an Emerging Leader at The Pegasus Institute of Peace, Global Health and Sustainability, and an advisory board member for Najimudu Empowerment Initiative.
