Dr. Boniface Kakhobwe has over 24 years’ work experience in designing and management of nurturing care for early childhood development, child protection, education, parenting support and disabilities programs. Currently working as Early Childhood Development (ECD) Specialist at UNICEF Child Nutrition and Development Practice, Global Programme Division. Responsible for nurturing care for ECD and co-leads global implementation of the Nurturing Care Framework in collaboration with WHO, World Bank and the ECD Action Network (ECDAN). Chairs the Global Policy and Advocacy Advisory Group of ECDAN. Previously worked as an ECD Specialist in UNICEF Rwanda, Malawi, Sierra Leone and Tanzania country offices. Managed different ECD, child protection, education, HIV and AIDS, livelihoods and emergency programs at Save the Children and UNDP before joining UNICEF in 2012. Boniface’s passion is to see elevated profile and investments in early years to give all young children the best start in life.
