Mary is the Founder Director/Technical Advisor of the African Institute for Health and Development. She has over 36 years of experience in health policy, advocacy, research and programming. She has previously worked for KEMRI, Amref Health Africa, APHRC and Population Council. She serves on various committees including Child Health and Mortality Prevention Surveillance and NCDI Poverty Network Steering Committee. She is the chair of the NCD Alliance and a co-Chair of the NCD Intersectoral Consultative Committee of Kenya. She also serves on the East African NCD Alliance Board and the Africa CDC NCD Advisory Board. Mary is a member of the University of Nairobi Council and the Health Benefits and Tariffs Advisory Panel (HBTAP) of Kenya. She is an Adjunct Faculty at Strathmore University. She has published on gender, NCDs, NTDs, child health, GBV, SRH, and poverty. She holds a PhD (Social Anthropology), University of Cambridge, UK.
